  8. could be a couple of things the media that you use for one, the player doesn't like it BTW what are you using? you could also try to change your media (+ format ) to dvd rom if your dvd burner supports changing the booktype settings . if you have a log of the burn that would help a lot it would answer the above questions . I burn to Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs and havent found a player that doesn't like them
  9. sorry to hear about your troubles with media ,I think and the forum members will back me up if its not Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs then its a gamble .To have found 3 different media ID's is a rip off company at work .You can name the company we name the good companys so naming the rip off artists is fair play. those discs are Gigastorage discs and if you Google the disc ID the reviews are negative
  10. national holiday here but the bills have to be paid so off to work for me too
  11. if you dont want to ask then look on the nights around the new releases(tuesday) they bag them up and put them out for garbage collection .I used to get them this way but then I made a friend in the store
  12. the disc burns from the inside out and as such there is less video on the inside as you move to the outer edge more can be written and as such it can handle more speed .Burning at 16X didn't produce the best scans in tests ,keeping it to 12x produced better quality discs
  13. BenQ dw1655 $41 at www.meritline.com
  14. heres a tip on DVD cases if theres a Blockbuster near you they get their new releases Tuesday and transfer them to their cases with the locks on them and they then throw out the original cases .I asked if I could have them and was able to get a couple of thousand over the last 2 years.I still have 5-6 hundred in storage ,double cases, colored ones , singles and they're all quality cases
  15. 8:32 here no rain but plenty of humidity ,with the pelting we got from enersto I dont have to wash the vehicles. Last couple of days we're getting the downpours in the afternoon ,typical South Florida weather
  16. polopony

    Pioneer A11/111

wow seems like a waste of time to write to those discs ,they assembled a nice little bundle of crap only CMC didn't get mentioned
  17. $129 for a benq 1655 seems way out of line New Egg was selling them in the $40 range but haven't seen any BenQ's for sale there in the last couple of days .If you have to have one wait awhile for the supply to increase that price is jacked up to the max
  18. why would youwant to pause the burn
  19. get better media to start with .Those discs are a step above pure crap .Buy some Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens and eliminate the media as the source of your problem
  20. all the hoopla is over, it rained part of the day then the sun broke out and it was fine. the village of Knighton, in Powys reported raining fish which is not uncommon in areas of Britian. Great Yarmouth in Norfolk also reported raining fish in 2000. If it would only rain chips also
  21. its the DB Minter autograph model
  22. yeah I do ,its still pissing outside but no wind everyone took the day off most stores are closed so its back to bed
  23. Defenstration heres the real deal ,since you've come to this forum it has not been about you helping anyone else .Its all been selfish on your part namely how you would like LUK to change the program so that it benifits you ,and you really cant take no for an answer .You seem to believe that once you make a suggestion that LUK should impliment it . The comparisons to Nero and nero can do this nero can do that ,give it a rest just use Nero . Nero is a commercial software and as such has many employees that write the program in addition to sales staff and marketing etc .This program is the invention of 1 person (no he doesn't want other programmers helping him write it ) who has done a great job and puts it out for free .You seem to think its your right to second guess what LUK wants to do with HIS program, its not your right or anyone elses for that matter. You just rub people the wrong way much like the way calwecyn does, its unfortunate because you really have a great grasp and some good ideas
  24. it looks like it was a lot of hype its 2:30 am and its very calm at the moment it was downgraded to a tropical storm ,we'll see what thew morning brings
