#39;( Jesus, thats a lot of money to spend just to get hooked up for high speed. Wouldn't going the satellite route be a bit better for you. Around here, 150$ will get you a dish and modem, then you just have the monthly charges for what ever package you get........... Most of these dishes come with dual LNB's so you could hook two puters up ( with the additional charge of second modem ) guess you could use router for the same purpose. Just seems a rip off, so close to a major city and yet so far from a high speed connection at reasonable prices............

500 bills, christ Grain. 25$ for a ethernet card, modem should be free or else just a small charge on your phone/cable bill, router 50$. All filters for phones usually come with modem. I'm on Bell Sympatico Ultra High Speed 65$ a month/ approx. WoW do they ever soak you down in your neck of Canada.

Grain, this is going to sound so lame but what size power supply do you have in her. I'm sure its adequate if you built her yourself but I had the same symptoms a few months back and after much friging around bought a new PSU and everything operated normally again. This is just a stab in the dark to try to help you out. I received the same response from microsoft after sending them the error report, used safe mode to start everything one by one and that did no good. Assumed no device driver conflict, thats when I went the route of PSU. Yours being brand new though................ unless its a faulty power supplu unit.........

Grain, I'm using AVG free as well for anti virus and ZA for firewall purposes. Have had them for a long time and no problems so far......... . I do have Spybot S&D for spyware removal but recently have also been using ewido online scanner for double insurance. Its free to use and works quite well, sometimes picking out different spyware that S&D misses. As you know these are all free for personal use. Probabley the other guys will be able to point you to different apps for your need as well.

dude, yes by all means upgrade to current version 1.3.0.0 It will ask you if you want to keep previous setings, if you do click yes and away you go. Program will automatically overwrite previous installed version and upgrade to current one. If you click no you will have to manually go in and reset your settings. Then the next time you burn a disk post a complete log file of the burn following Volvos instructions.
