As donta said the DVD-R DLs are near enough useless unless the original layer break happens to be in the exact same position as the fixed layer break on the blank media..... Do as donta said return em as shite and get Verbatim DVD+R DL's....

I agree with MJ - Ritek DL media is pretty crap as is there single layer stuff these days. Get Verbatim DVD+R DL if you want to burn Dual layer.

I believe it's the same media id too - places like www.svp.co.uk, where I get my media from will publish the media id's of their discs so you can check. You can always ask your retailer what is on both sets of discs.

Does your PC slow down a lot when running bit torrent ? It's a long shot but maybe there was not enough resources to cycle before verify ?

As corny said the Verbs don't support 1x writing - they write fine on my BenQ and NEC drives at 2.4x so I wouldn't worry

Do you recall ever seeing the info that polo posted above ? As he said there is no MEDIA ID or write speeds shown in your log. Maybe the drive has broken ? I see from the rpc1.org site (firmware updates) that there is no update available, I don't know anything about that drive but given that you have had it at least 2 years it may have just retired itself.
