  1. You are using the same burn speed as in Nero?
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum, ConkersM9! There is a later firmware version for that burner. It might give you better burning result with those discs. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Sony/AW-G170A/files.html You also selected 16x write speed (MAX) but the speed was not great. Might wanna check if DMA is enabled. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...dpost&p=967
  3. Try also to disable this setting.
  4. Hi and welcome to the forum, quad!
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum, SKY_BO! Not sure why you have selected 'Incremental' as write type. Try 8x write speed. 4x was a joke when I tried with the same media id.
  6. I have the same burner and it was crappy with the initial firmware. Update it to SB03. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S223F/files.html
  7. Try to get your money back. You have been set up. ImgBurn can not read protected games.
  8. Hi and welcome to the forum, batesy22! Sure you have a DVD burner? To me it looks as a DVD reader + CD reader/burner.
  9. I guess I should keep my tin foil hat on. My brain seems to go banana every time I take it off...
  10. If you have burned a +R media, please post the log.
  11. That the burner was manufactured by Hitachi and sold under the name LG. I tried to find a book setting firmware, but I couldn't find any.
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum, Sambellina! That it stops at 16% is that 16% of the disc will be used for your .avi file - so you can add 84% more data if you want so.
  13. Some posts on the net says it's a re badged Hitachi. I guess that's why the LG commands doesn't work.
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum, MNNY! It's a LG writer. If you use default settings ImgBurn should booktype your +R media by default. Post a burning log - that will show if the book type worked.
  15. Looking at an old Nero log - it seems that Nero reports this issue as it should. http://club.cdfreaks.com/f48/nero-fails-bu...r-start-267959/
  16. Hi and welcome to the forum, kschwi! Correct. Can only read DVDs and read/burn CD's.
  17. Is there any other program that could interfere with the burning?
  18. If the Indian made Verbatims are of less quality I don't know as I can't find any of those DL discs around my place. I do know that the quality amongst spindles can vary. It's also possible that another speed like 4x; 6x; 8x could increase the quality of the burns. It's just a trial and error to find out that.
  19. Normally when a burner is broken, even single layer discs ends up with write errors. If you have access to another computer, try to burn a DL disc in that computer with your burner.
  20. Yes, when I had my SATA issues, also single layer burns went banana.

  22. A reading error. The burned disc is in a condition that it can't be read. You could post the latest 'successful' burn. You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  23. You own problem is this: This guy in this thread had more or less the same issue - only that his burner reported a different error message - but it failed to set the L0 Data Zone Capacity. He is also using 'less good' media that could indicate a reason for the problem. A firmware update solved his issue. In your case there have been no new firmware released for your burner in at least 1.5 year and I doubt there ever will be any new one released as it's that long since it was released. So what to do - buy better media? It will not help you as you already use the best media. You have already got the burner replaced and still same issue. That leaves just one option left - replace it with a better brand of burner. The years that I have been in DVD forums - the Matshita burners have been the most frequent burners to have burning problems. So why do they still put them in computers? Because they are cheap and computer companies want to make the computers as cheap as possible. To put in a better brand of burner usually costs more and consumers tend to buy the cheapest computer that they can find. With the prices of todays DVD burners - go for a good burner and it will save you the price of many burned coasters.
  24. Hi and welcome to the forum, liamthornhill! It could be hard ware related (something wrong with the burner itself) Have you tried the other speeds like 6x and 8x? Edit: Mrs Slow again...
