  1. 1080P is a good upgrade but i still wish they would sort out their crap protocol for live.

OK if you have one 360 and a gold subscription, not so good if you have 2 360 and 2 gold subscription.

As you can only pass one port per internal IP, therefore you cannot achieve OPEN on both 360's when both are connected to live.

Easily fixed as well on ms behalf if they would just add another port, IE 3074 is the one they use they should at least add 3075, tbh they should have range from 3074 to at least 3080.

  2. Anyone on here running This intel chipset ICH7 with sata 2 hard drives using AHCI or even IDE /AUTO/COMBINED/ENHANCED etc.

If you are what udma are your sata 150/300 drives currently using listed in device manager under IDE/ATA/ATAPI Controller.

If you run nero info tool under configuration does it also list some of your sata drives as having DMA off.

    Thanks

Tested the I-ram a little further this time with build mode and shrink

Limited use this I-ram thing and too dear at that, as reading source is too slow for i-ram's capabilities.

Eg copying file from any of my sata2 hd's to i ram tops out at sata 2 drives max sustained read rate.

Same applies going from I-ram to any of my sata2 hd's this time hd's max sustainable write rate.

However using I-ram as source for shrink to process encode etc is where i get to see some real benefit at a rate of 153,776k a second to 176,863 k a second, still limited to just under dvd-5 size encoding though ie 3.99 gig etc.

Imgburn build mode when files are stored on I-ram is also pretty stunning, though am limited to just under 2 gig source and just under 2 gig store.

If i bought another and another 4 gig of pc1600 memory it would be lightning fast.

  3. I have the acronis one in fact i got quite a few that will do the job. I just like / trust the ontrack one, well the specific versions for each of my diff manufacturers hard drives. As the one i bought will do any.

    Thanks

  4. Ok i bought this program tonight, as i used to use the free version each drive manufacturer provided.

I bought it cos samsung/hitachi/fujitsu no longer provide this tool, and i was having issues with partition magic 8.

Anyways i presumed it would allow me to create a dos version to prepare 2 sata2 hard drives a samsung 300 gig and hitachi 200 gig

It only creates bootable floppy disc, now this would not be problem as i can use nero or imgburn to create ISO.

Heres the problem though, it creates 2 floppy discs, the only difference with floppy 2 is DMZIP2, which is not on floppy one as floppy 1 is not big enough.

There is nothing on floppy one i can delete to then put dmzip2 on.

Am i missing the obvious here, or is there a way imgburn can sort this out.

Long day, headache and tbh had enough been shitty day got ripped off with 4 gig of crappy memory from ebay as well

    thanks

  5. yep shamus point is best, lock down the mac address as well as set up wep

eg you supply hex 10 digit key for her router and match the same key in operating system.

Do not get router to generate key for you add one manually.

enable firewall in router, also set up any other security features like, Block Anonymous Internet Requests , disable remote management.

  6. goto mode then choose build mode. Then select output image file

Then either select a folder (browse for folder) that has the avi files in or select the individual avi files (browse for file)

Then choose destination, then click on the folder 2 iso icon at bottom.

Or if you want it to burn straight to disc choose output to device

    Poll

I'm using my 4 gig as ram hard drive.

You got the board yet for ya e6700.

I decided on msi 975x platinum power up edition one, It's OK but has very bad bios which is taking msi forever to sort out.

I think the bios issue is also plaguing other manufacturers as well though.

    [edit]

actually read ya post wrong i saw it as intel 975xxx when you meant you bought the badaxe.

  7. Mine has done this once so far with latest version.

I do not know if it was something i did, eg I already had an instance of imgburn still open on toolbar, i know nothing else should have had priority at that point.

I never use packet writing crap, Will take more notice next time and see if i can get it to do it again.

I have never had that error on any of my computers or writers, It might be down to my Liteon drive.

  8. yep, i knew about the 4 core b4 i bought mine, as coolaler had been testing it, he gets all the best gear to test.

Old before you know it, thats always the way it has been and will always be so.

I have to say i am over the moon with my E6600, best CPU i have ever bought.

Will still keep an eye on AMD though. I think they have their work cut out as the core 2 duo is fantastic CPU and if AMD had something to compete there back to the drawing board when kentsfield appears in Jan 2007 or whenever it gets released.
