v2.2 Added: 'Auto Change Book Type' option to the settings. This is only used for LG and Samsung drives. When enabled (default), it will make the program send the appropriate command to tell the drive to booktype the disc to DVDROM at the start of every burn - obviously just for Plus format media -i.e. DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL. We LG owners thank you...

8x for me on my external LG as well. I have heard that if you keep the speed down to 8x the burning laser gets more power so you get better burns...

I've found book typing +R discs to be good for playing on stand alone players if your burner is listed.

So far so good then... My ISP is Sky with a firewall built into the router so along with Firefox, Windows firewall turned on, regular scans, McAfee site adviser (a good 1 to have), and that, I've given ZA the boot.

The question has come up on another thread if Imgburn will do the same job as packet writing software such as InCD. I use Imgburn to format +RW to burn dvd, but I don't know about data files - are they different?

@polopony@ I don't know either. I know the DVD forums I frequent treat InCD like the plague and nearly always recommend its removal and I always use Imgburn to format +RW, but the question concerned files. Is that different from DVD? Regards

Yeah thats when I started getting problems, upgrading from 6 to 7. Either 7 has a bug, but I haven't heard anything, or its in conflict with something. Anyway, good luck...

I don't use InCD anymore as I suspect it caused a lot of the record & playback probs I was getting. It formats (it says) in 3min whereas Imgburn takes about 15 and doesn't recognise a format done by InCD and always wants to format again. Other forums I visit always recommend removing InCD because of, as has been said, conflict issues esp with Roxio. It even needs its own clean tool to remove and it causes a lot of burn failures with Nero - very odd as its part of Nero. Before I started using Imgburn I burnt with Nero and had loads of playback problems. Thats why using Imgburn came a such a pleasant surprise. It burns a lot quicker than Nero, even when its being held back to 8x on 16x media, with no burn failures or playback probs. All the focus with Imgburn is on the burning, with its formatting ability being overlooked, but I'm starting to think this is a major strength of the prog. So my advice, and this is really bizarre considering where we are, is remove InCd and reformat all you RW's with Imgburn. Also, I don't know if you guys have tested Verbatim +RW, but the quality is not as good as their +R. I gave up on them and switched to Phillips...

I recently uninstalled ZA 7 after using ZA for years. I kept getting out of system resources messages which it might be causing, so off it came. No probs since. I've heard ZA works well with AVG, but I don't know what AV you're using. Also check windows firewall is off...
