  1. Try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. It may be worth trying burn at 12x or 16x too. If that doesn't work then try those blanks on another burner to see if you have a defective batch.
  2. You can find the logs of your previous burns in ImgBurn's Help menu.
  3. Post the log of that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  4. You'll need to convert your files in order to play them on a standard DVD player, and this isn't something ImgBurn does.
  5. Use a proper archiving tool like 7-Zip/WinRAR/etc. to split your file then burn each part to a disc using ImgBurn's Build mode (i.e. "Write files/folders to disc").
  6. Then you should look for the latest driver for your SATA controller. It might also be worth trying the burner on all the available SATA ports.
  7. Post the log of that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  8. What are the filenames of the two files you've downloaded from Micro$oft?

  10. Try this firmware update for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). If it doesn't work, or doesn't help with your problem, then you'll need to use better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, or get a new burner
  11. The whole log of that burn session would be useful (look in ImgBurn's Help menu if you closed the program).
  12. Read the pink banner at the top of this page.
  13. Try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. Also look for the latest drivers for your motherboard's chipset and/or SATA controller (use SIW to identify your hardware).
  14. Download the latest ImgBurn and tell the installer to install to that folder.
  15. Use the latest version and you can disable Graph Data in Tools -> Settings if it isn't compatible with your system. Oh, and you could select the lines in the Log window and Edit -> Copy or CTRL+C
  16. Use a non-rewritable disc, because your burner doesn't like that rewritable disc.
  17. The log of those operations would be useful (look in ImgBurn's Help menu), as per the pink banner at the top of this page.
  18. Because the burner in your Vaio doesn't support the blanks you're using. And please do update ImgBurn on all your computers because we don't support old versions.
  19. Yes, it'll work OK: the only difference is that you'll need to create the shortcut/start menu entry by yourself.
  20. The slowest burn speed doesn't necessarily result in a better quality burn, especially when using 8x rated blanks on a new burner like yours. Burn at 8x or 6x and you might get a better burn quality.

  22. Install this driver, reboot and then try burning again.
  23. No, that's the burner's specifications. You want to look in Hardware -> Motherboard and also in PCI.
  24. Throw that DVD+RW disc in the garbage and get a new one, preferably from Verbatim. Alternatively you could use write once that since they're more reliable.
  25. Sounds like the data isn't being sent fast enough to the burner. Post the log of one of such burns and also the Graph Data File that's specified in that log (for both look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
