  2. No, I'm saying that the majority of users burn DVD's and not BD-R's. If you're the only one doing something, who do you expect to help you? Looking at your log, it's impossible to say where the problem lies - be it with the media or with the drive... but the error comes from a problem between the drive/firmware/media, the software doesn't even come into it. You'd have to burn more discs and see if they all error out. If they do you'd have to buy another spindle and then try those. If all discs error out at all speeds the drive supports then it's likely to be the drive. Of course BD-R are still very expensive so figuring this stuff out isn't going to be cheap.
  3. The drive just failed to burn that disc. Maybe it was defective? You won't get much help here with BD-R burning, it's not something many people do.
  4. Ok so you didn't even get to the verify stage that time. Maybe it is just your discs. See if you can get hold of another MKM-001-00 spindle made in Singapore from an online store. That or perhaps invest in another drive - there's probably not a lot of difference in price! The Pioneer DVR-216 seems to make pretty decent burns on that media. I just burnt one in mine on 2.4x and it gave me a 99.60% quality score in the PIPO scan (using a LiteOn iHAS422) in DVDInfoPro.
  5. AUTO means nothing (or rather it means 'MAX') if you don't configure the 'Automatic Write Speed' feature. Make sure you verify your burns by ticking the 'Verify' box. When you've done that, post a log of the complete burn+verify operation.
  6. No, multisession still isn't supported.
  7. You might find that drive does a better job of burning that media at 4x rather than 2.4x.
  8. Don't burn directly, make an image and burn that.
  9. The imp identifier is part of the UDF spec. You never see it besides within ImgBurn so what's all the fuss about? I think I have a right to put ImgBurn's name on something it makes anyway.
  10. The program is correct, the guide was wrong.
  11. The statusbar inside ImgBurn. It's the bar at the bottom of the main window. Please also copy + paste everything from the log window when you attempt to burn using your new drive and you think it's stuck.
  12. What's the exact message in the statusbar?
  13. It's a real shame when people have NO sense of humour.
  14. Seriously, the logs you've posted have no info about any 'operation' starting or ending... and they ALWAYS do. Look for yourself next time. Open ImgBurn and make sure the log window is open ('View' menu -> 'Log'), then start to burn a disc. There's a lot more that'll be visible in the window in addition to what you've posted. EDIT: Ok the log you just posted (via an 'Edit') above does have the info required. We got there in the end It you look in the status bar it'll no doubt show what the program is doing. It's probably waiting for the drive to set the layer break position - but your drive doesn't like that media so it's having problems. Read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  15. lol you need to actually be doing something! - i.e. burning + verifying a disc.
  16. The log gets saved automatically when the program closes.
  17. That log shows you leaving it 2 seconds. Try and post a different log with more info.
  18. Are you unable to use notepad?
  19. Another one ripped off by copythatdvd no doubt
  20. Sorry, is your F:\ drive USB too? Your response isn't very clear. ImgBurn seems unable to read that image file (F:\NHL2K9.ISO) at any sort of decent speed so it would make sense if it is indeed a USB 1.0 device. Put the image on your C: drive and try again. I can't really comment on the memorex drive without seeing some sort of log. Maybe it's just too old and doesn't comply with the MMC specs properly.
  21. I see one question in your original post - "It there a way around this copy protection?" You will get no assistance on matters like that here.
  22. So it's probably USB 1.0 then rather than 2.0. USB 1 isn't even quick enough for 1x speed DVD burning.
  23. Turning it off will just stop the messages in the log, it won't stop the buffer emptying! If the CPU usage is that low it would suggest that DMA is ok but your drive is just REALLY slow at reading or something. How is your F:\ drive connected? PATA / SATA / USB? Can you burn a disc in Discovery mode at full speed? (use test mode so as to not waste a disc)
  24. This is the ImgBurn support forum - I suggest you ask this question somewhere else.... we can't help you.
  25. You're not the first and you won't be the last. I really hope they get shut down soon! Best of luck with getting a refund.
