  1. If you can get a benq 1650/55 those have been excellent for my Wii backups. The Liteon 20A1P (I have 3 of them) non of them can burn Wii backups with consistency using top quality media eg taiyo yuden and verbatim example I burn a verb @4x wii starts to read it then gives up, the next one is fine, then next 3 fail, stick same image on CMC mag media and it works then go back to verb and taiyo yuden and fail ~KLON firmware in all liteons. Switch to one of my benq and not a single failure on over 30 backups. Trying to find a new benq 1650 will be very hard work I thought I would just mention the liteon (however the drive in my wii is brand new but no 2 wii drives are exactly the same so other users may have had no issues with their liteon 20a1p and wii backups) It will be a question of take the plunge, use good media burnt @ 4x finding media that will burn @2x in newer writers and newer media will require a bit of luck also
  2. You will need to buy a new drive as pioneer 104 cannot booktype DVD-ROM also the guide you are following the last piece of advice is to not bother verifying with a witty it's just wasting someones time. DO NOT follow that bit of advice and ALWAYS VERIFY after burning anything.
  3. how have you got split image files, which program created them and exactly what are they. btw the dl discs you burn in nero and other app make sure you verify them afterwards as neither of those programs @ default verify after burn and then get dvdinfo pro and scan them in a drive that has jitter.
  4. you should have two files after extracting rar or zip A0814001.118 which is the firmware and the flasher R115D.exe I flashed mine in a Usb enclosure but there are many different chipsets in enclosures. The chipset in the enclosure I flashed mine in was GL811E try downloading the firmware I used http://rapidshare.com/files/85925345/DVR115D_FW118EU2.zip The above download also has mcse in package ignore that and just make sure you have the 2 files at top of post in same directory. Make sure the drive is jumpered to master when in enclosure
  5. You just replaced crappy media with more crappy media. Surely you have to be able to buy Verbatim made in singapore media from somewhere off the net.
  6. Another expert. Gotta go now to deposit my cheque from Verbatim.

  8. Is that drive not getting on a bit, maybe it's time to buy a new recent writer. If it is a laptop drive maybe consider an external. All you can do is check for firmware updates , clean the lens with CD cleaner, check for dodgy fileters, buy new drive
  9. I've never had a problem txing files across a network and burning using ultracache enabled version of nero but advisable to just leave comp alone whilst burning no matter which writing software your using.
  10. Thats up to you and how much memory you have in your system and if you like to faff on whilst burning or you just burn and go
  11. depends on your drive as support for your model may have been added with later version of nero
  12. scooby just told me it's raurel and hardy
  13. How dare they. http://www.wikihow.com/Bypass-Websense
  14. Try wnaspi32.dll and switch i/o to wnaspi32 in ImgBurn settings. if you have Nero installed just search for wnaspi32 if not then download it from Nero site or google. Change the enclosure but your run the risk of this error again
  15. on the post screen you may even have a boot menu say press f8 or f11 to enter boot menu and choose
  16. Try a lens cleaner look for a firmware update, buy an new internal laptop drive (they are poor) or buy an external See manufacturer and tell them drive is fooked and you expected to be able to burn more than 20 disc's b4 it broke. Go back to shop you bought laptop from and complain about shoddy goods. Also look for some older 8x media and try with those , by that I mean some decent media.
  17. which mobo you got ? It's got to be using third party IDE and drivers. I think someone suggested look in bios, you need to do this and make sure UDMA is ON for IDE etc
  18. Or join in with 21st century mob and update your operating system or your computer
