  1. :happybday: :happybday: A Happy belated Birthday Polo and firey
  2. Happy Birthday Donta , hope it was a good one
  3. depending on the medium you use, it could be that its low quality and youve found the "really" low quality ones in the spindle . basically, your drive is saying it does not recognise your discs, meaning it cant read them ( would probably be the same effect for all programs you tried) What make and type of blank discs are you using ? try putting a good burned disc from the past in and choose write mode, then copy and paste the info from the right hand side window into here
  4. dfferant media responds to drives in differant ways. not everybody uses the same brand and type of media with the same writer with the same make and model of PC , and then plays it on the same make and model of dvd player . for some people the cheapest crap media works, but for many others it doesnt, hence our recommendation of taiyo Yuden or Verbatim . both taiyo and Verbatim have given the most consistency over recent years . ( info gained from experience within this forum) see my last reply above I just checked your link, and honest opinion is that the results are done by people who have either A) not watched all the dvds they wrote 6 months previously B ) are not really bothered about quality C) buy the cheapest media available to them if cheap media works for you then stick with it. if you dont want to follow the advice youve been given already then fine as well HOWEVER , if you dont follow thw advice youve been given you will probably never resolve the original problem
  5. LOL , not as good as yours though Fortunately, we know Blu likes the female form
  6. Randall & Hopkirk ( Deceased) ? OR Richard & H-Harold ( 2 old guys from the local , HHarold's got stutter )
  7. nope , only tea and coffee with my system , The chocolate needs the AAC plug in ( or maybe just the AC plugged in )
  8. Jason, that WAS a lame suggestion Blu , that was a "below the belt" one
  9. a few DVD authoring prog's cause this to happen as well try something else instead of the authoring prog you've been using, preferably one with an adjustable audio "Gain" setting
  10. post a log file of the HP discs after a successful burn. The only HP dual layer discs i can find are CMC dye , got a feeling you will be saying goodbye to HP crapola as well very soon
  11. actually its the L UK version, but i even typed that worng

  13. the best part is................... i have IESpell as well ,........................ but i never let a bit of software hold me back
  14. according to our postman, he reckons my rottweiler does 6 nips to a bite
  15. LOL if you typed real fast like me and made loads of typos ( again, like me ) , then you would have beat me
  16. an MDS file is similar to a BIN and CUE file, whereas 1 of them is the information on what data to burn and in what order and the other is the actual data. the MDS conatins information about the layer break on dual layer discs, so always choose the MDS if theres one there. You need to keep this in the same folder as the ISO file it relates to as well. our policies mean we cant/wont/dont discuss ripping of copy protected discs in any way , besides this is the ImgBurn forum and not the dvdfub forum and in respect of your opinion you wont get a sermon on the morals of ripping anyway, but we will say no more about it
  17. the new version is imminent, thats all i can say really , the only person who can actually say when, is the author himself, LIGHTNING_UK. There are several new features, the GUI will remain roughly the same, so as to continue its ease of use, except there will be a few additions related to the new features. its unlikely you will ever need to change any settings, or indeed have cause to . As said earlier,we recommend leaving everything at default. The idea of this support forum was meant to be the quickest way of being able to help someone when they encounter a problem , and due to all the testing that Lightning_UK does before a general release, there shouldn't be any problems, well no major ones anyway help files are never completely fool proof, even the best ones out there, so to be able to "talk"/ type a question and get instant replies some times, narrows down any risk of accidental setting changes and of coarse constant coasters. usually most of the settings and bells and whistles are self explanatory , settings only ever need to be altered for minor tweaking on the odd machine now and again and ONLY when advised by LUK or the beta team and a few other regulars. I'm not going into detail as to exactly what has been changed or added to v2.3.2.0 , suffice to say you are already aware of the ability to be able to burn audio. When you start using ImgBurn , you will soon find out how simple it actually is to use , all along LUK wanted it to be a simple to use piece of software that isn't bloated to the neck with unnecessary add-ons . i hope that helps for the time being though ?
  18. no, you will need to use something like DVDShrink to make it smaller, or a dvd authoring program and lose some of the parts of the disc, ie, menu, extras, other languages, subtitles ect ect
  19. Could also be some heavy duty multitasking going on too. I10:04:16 Total Physical Memory: 260,080 KB - Available: 76,140 KB this confirms it as well
  20. Welcome to the ImgBurn support forum Anthony A The help file in ImgBurn is the actual forum , any problems you can not resolve yourself, just post a new topic. Imgburn works at its best in Default settings anyway, so theres no need to change any of tits many settings . Imgburn is due to release a newer updated version . It was hoped for release back in December, but some final testing revealed a couple of issues that LIGHTNING_UK ( the programs author) wanted to sort out. The guide for burning audio CD's was posted on the day of the new versions intended release , so apologies if it doesnt actually make sense to you at the moment. the rest of the guides "as is" will sort you thru creating DVD discs, and the new version of ImgBurn when relleased will allow you to burn audio CD's . the FAQ page ( link on the red banner above) will get you up and running, any questions though, just start a new thread in the appropriate section and we will ty and help
  21. i find the "Made in Singapore" label on the packaging is usually a bit of a giveaway if you go for the 2.4x ones as opposed to anything faster, the chances are they was made in Singapore. not a garantee though usually a reputable dealer will state where they was made and which dye is on them . if it doesnt state it on there store , email them the question .if your in Europe, look at svp.co.uk and read the info on each brand , they tell you the Manufactrers ID ( ink/dye code). You could cross flash your HP to a Liteon ( which is what your drive actually is behind the HP badge) which has had a few firmware updates although it may void the warranty if you have to return it. personally I'd try verbatims first
  22. YUP , it CAN be just down to bad discs and youve unfortunately got bad discs. its not so much that you have a few bad ones amongst the pack, but the actual discs themselves. we only recomend Verbatim for dual layer DV9 work, and they have to be the ones with the MKM-OO1 dye/ink. usually the ones that are a max of 2.4x , also make sure they are made in singapore and NOT India In the meanwhile, see if you cna find any firmware updates for that drive, and you may be able to make use of any of the ritek discs you have left over, but make sure you go for verbatim next time
